Donations In Kind Supporters – Take a bow

Donations In Kind national activity results for last year have just been released and everyone who has been involved deserves a pat on the back.   Almost every Club in our District were involved in some way and many thousands of people now lead better lives because of your efforts. This is a great example of the power of Rotary and what we can achieve if we work together.

A special thanks goes to the DIK Inc Clubs who contribute one month’s rent, without their support the Store would not operate and the other Clubs who contribute what they can. We also need to thank PP Laurie Fisher and the volunteer team at DIK for their wonderful contribution.  Stores are not in competition and we share the joy that there has been significant growth nationally.   This result highlights how cost effective this type of project is with $14 of goods shipped for every $1 invested in the operation.

Donations In Kind is an Australian activity and as the figures show we are not exaggerating when we say Victorian Clubs have the best opportunity in the world to help in this way.   We did a great job last year and are off to a good start, but as usual the Store is full and there are lots of opportunities available. This sort of project works because many clubs are involved and when it only costs $100 to ship a classroom of chairs, every Club can afford to be involved in some way.
