By Gordon Nightingale, Rotary Club of Daylesford

The Daylesford Art Show run by the Rotary Club of Daylesford last month drew a record 270 entries with 50 paintings sold during the show.  As a part ARTOBER, it is a celebration of the arts in the Hepburn Shire.

Offering a diverse range of artistic expression, ARTOBER runs during October through to mid-November.   The signature event is the Daylesford Art Show held over the Melbourne Cup long weekend.   Events are held throughout the shires of Hepburn Springs, Daylesford, Creswick, Trentham, Blampied and Sailors Falls; and events include local artists and galleries as well as community and neighborhood groups, school and youth groups.

President Lesley Hewitt was supported by every member of the club, with members helping with Catering {Bronwyn Scarffe},lights, setup and pull down,  preparing the catalogue, logging art in and out, liaising wit artists and a multitude of other tasks.

The artists commented on the professionalism and organisation of the event held over the Melbourne Cup long weekend.
